Crazy over today's most popular Kapuso stars? GMA-7, the country's top-rating television station, brings to you its stable of exclusive television actors and actresses all-year round this 2007 through a handy and special, fun and fashionable calendar in cooperation with Fujfilm/YKL.

Welcome the new year with Angel Locsin gracing the January layout, and look forward to Valentine's Day with sexy teen star Katrina Halili. The pocket calendar and planner also features the rest of the well-loved Kapuso artists such as Jennilyn Mercardo and Mark Herras.

GMA Artist Management and Development Center tied up with Fujifilm/YKL once again to specially produce the pocket calendar and planner for 2007, following the raving success of its maiden calendar last year. Fujifilm/YKL's true-to-life colors and unmatched digital photo processing make images come to life and bring GMA's Kapuso artists closer to their fans.

GMA events and publicity officer Jenny Donato is excited about the project. Together with Fujifilm/YKL, they are bringing more creative and artful images to the fans, thanks to the expertise and technology of Fujifilm that enables them to explore greater artistic limits. "It is an important opportunity for GMA Artist Center to make our stars a part of the fans' lives all year round, adding to our list of activities and appearances," stated Donato.

GMA Artist Management and Development Center, the group behind today's hottest television stars on the Kapuso network, recognizes this and has tied up recently with only the best in the photo industry—Fujifilm/YKL, the official local distributor of world-renowned, technologically advanced Fujifilm digital photography products and services. The agreement is the result of the success of GMA's exclusive and special 2006 calendar featuring GMA-7 stars, produced in coordination with Fujifilm/YKL and utilizing only the best in digital photography.

The success of the calendar and clamor among GMA-7 fans was phenomenal such that a follow-up in 2007 was inevitable. For this, GMA Artist Center went back to the drawing board with Fujifilm/YKL to produce an even more special and exciting calendar. According to Jenny Donato, GMA events and publicity officer, Fujifilm/YKL's support was more than welcome. "Fujifilm/YKL is equally enthusiastic about our projects and activities with our stars," she said. Fujifilm/YKL was an integral part of the brainstorming, from choosing photographers to providing venues and ideas for the photo shoots. The result was an edgier, more artsy calendar that showcases the GMA Artist Center members at their best.

Fans can expect even more exciting photography projects between GMA Artist Center and Fujifilm/YKL in coming months. "We are looking forward to working with Fujifilm on more projects in the future," added Donato. GMA Artist Center aims to develop not only talents for movie and television, but also for venturing into the digital film genre. Established in 1998 with only 23 talents, the Kapuso team now manages more than a hundred artists and singers, under Ida Henares' leadership that began in 2002.

The 2007 GMA-Fujifilm/YKL calendar is exclusively available only from Fujifilm and YKL outlets nationwide. Visit Fujifilm Digital Imaging Stations in major malls, department stores and freestanding branches nationwide to grab a copy of this one-of-a-kind, exclusive collector's item.

Mozcom, Fuji YKL team up to launch Picatoo

Capitalizing on the popularity of digital photography, Internet service provider Mozcom and Fuji YKL have joined forces to launch online photo developing service Picatoo.

Picatoo business development manager Tin Loya says the new service allows users to develop their digital images from the comforts of their own homes or from anywhere with an Internet connection.

“We saw an opportunity in digital photography developing because of the growing number of digital camera owners and their need for a user-friendly and reliable online printing solutions,” she said.

“With so many digital photos stored online, it only made sense to create such a service, taking cue from the success of similar ventures in foreign countries,” she added.

While digital photography has made storing and sharing photos electronically almost the norm, Picatoo believes that this trend has not eliminated the need for traditional prints that can be passed around during family gatherings and special events.

Considering today’s busy and fast-paced lifestyle, Picatoo is designed to make printing digital images less of a hassle.

All a user has to do is to go to the Picatoo website, www.picatoo.com, and create an account.

Designed to be user-friendly, Picatoo can be used even by individuals with a minimal understanding of technology as photos can be uploaded using a Web browser using very simple drag-and-drop operations.

The photos are printed using the Fuji Digital Minilab Frontier developing system, which, Loyola says, churns out “prints that will last a lifetime.”

Picatoo allows users to have their digital images printed as conventional-sized 4R prints or even as photo posters with sizes of up to 12x18 inches.

Each print is priced the same as traditional photo prints, with a typical 4R print costing P6.00 per piece.
Prints are then delivered for free to the customer’s house for a minimum purchase of P250.00 for Metro Manila or P300.00 for areas outside the metro.

Aside from the digital image printing services, Picatoo also offers customized mugs, calendars, mouse pads, T-shirts, and other items.

All payments are made online, with the site accepting all major international credit cards, plus Bancnet and Megalink ATM accounts, Globe G-Cash, Smart Money, and UCPB my 1 Time.
