Capitalizing on the popularity of digital photography, Internet service provider Mozcom and Fuji YKL have joined forces to launch online photo developing service Picatoo.
Picatoo business development manager Tin Loya says the new service allows users to develop their digital images from the comforts of their own homes or from anywhere with an Internet connection.
“We saw an opportunity in digital photography developing because of the growing number of digital camera owners and their need for a user-friendly and reliable online printing solutions,” she said.
“With so many digital photos stored online, it only made sense to create such a service, taking cue from the success of similar ventures in foreign countries,” she added.
While digital photography has made storing and sharing photos electronically almost the norm, Picatoo believes that this trend has not eliminated the need for traditional prints that can be passed around during family gatherings and special events.
Considering today’s busy and fast-paced lifestyle, Picatoo is designed to make printing digital images less of a hassle.
All a user has to do is to go to the Picatoo website, www.picatoo.com, and create an account.
Designed to be user-friendly, Picatoo can be used even by individuals with a minimal understanding of technology as photos can be uploaded using a Web browser using very simple drag-and-drop operations.
The photos are printed using the Fuji Digital Minilab Frontier developing system, which, Loyola says, churns out “prints that will last a lifetime.”
Picatoo allows users to have their digital images printed as conventional-sized 4R prints or even as photo posters with sizes of up to 12x18 inches.
Each print is priced the same as traditional photo prints, with a typical 4R print costing P6.00 per piece.
Prints are then delivered for free to the customer’s house for a minimum purchase of P250.00 for Metro Manila or P300.00 for areas outside the metro.
Aside from the digital image printing services, Picatoo also offers customized mugs, calendars, mouse pads, T-shirts, and other items.
All payments are made online, with the site accepting all major international credit cards, plus Bancnet and Megalink ATM accounts, Globe G-Cash, Smart Money, and UCPB my 1 Time. |
